La Concierge

 Proper Advancement of the Colors

  1. The flag of the United States is always carried on the right.

  2. The left hand is on the staff not the flag.

  3. The right hand is firmly on the staff and resting on right hip.  (A good hint to have staff of flag riding firmly against your right hip when advancing or retiring the colors.)

  4. The eagle always leads or flies in and out of the room.

  5. The United States flag is always carried and posted higher than any other flag.

  6. The American flag crosses directly in front of Le Chapeau station, The American flag crosses between the Le Chapeau station and the Eight and Forty Banner.

  7. The flag of the United States is posted first.

  8. The Eight and Forty flag is immediately posted after the American flag is posted.

  9. The eagles face the audience.

  10. The flag carriers don’t touch the flag after they are posted they should hang free.

The flag carriers take one step back from the flag, they wait for the La Concierge to give instruction to assemble. They then walk back together to the rear of the room.
